The Truth About Frizz: Causes and Solutions

By August 29, 2025September 24th, 2025No Comments

If there’s one thing almost every client asks me about, it’s frizz. It doesn’t matter if your hair is curly, straight, fine, or thick, frizz has a way of showing up uninvited. But the truth is, frizz isn’t just about “bad hair.” It’s your hair telling you it needs something.

What causes frizz?

Frizz happens when the outer layer of the hair, the cuticle, is raised and allows moisture to enter. This can be triggered by humidity, heat damage, chemical treatments, or simply lack of hydration. When hair is dry or damaged, it seeks water from the air, and that’s when the puff, halo, and flyaways appear.

The solution starts with care.

To smooth frizz, you have to start with hydration. Products that seal moisture into the cuticle will always make the biggest difference. In my salon, I recommend lightweight creams, nourishing masks, and serums that give hair both flexibility and shine.

On-the-go fixes.

Of course, frizz doesn’t wait for the perfect moment. That’s why I created my Anti-Frizz Sheets, a portable, mess-free way to tame flyaways instantly. Slip them into your bag, and they’re ready whenever frizz tries to ruin the look you worked so hard to create.

Frizz is not your enemy, it’s a signal. With the right products and routine, you can transform frizz into healthy, manageable, touchable hair. And when your hair is balanced with hydration, it moves the way it was meant to.
